Klothchilde Collectables – Natural Fibre Art Dolls

I have dressed these dolls Harajuku style. Harajuku is centered around Harajuku Station in Tokyo and is popular for teen and upmarket fashion.

The doll itself is 100% natural fibre. The skin is cotton, and the doll is filled with fine merino wool. I use a variety of yarn for the hair such as mohair, silk, alpaca and a range of pure wool.

The clothes are styled after the Harajuku fashion. Colours such as pastels and bright colours, tartan, stripes and polka dots abound. Harajuku teens favour bright coloured hair scarves, pink and green and carry animal style bags. Thigh high stockings and boots are popular. Although most of the clothing is natural fibre, some articles are constructed from man-made fibre.

These dolls are not immersible in water and the hair finger combed only. The doll can be sponged lightly. All clothing is hand wash only.

These dolls are bright, colourful and a joy to make. They are not suitable for children but would look lovely in a teen’s bedroom or for anyone who likes to collect dolls.
