Marion Nelson

“My inspiration for creating art comes from many things, but most of all, the way light falls on a subject.  I love the way light creates atmosphere and mood.“

Marion Nelson is a printmaker, painter, and origami artist based in Denmark, Western Australia.  The beautiful surrounding landscape deeply influences the rhythm of her creative practice.

Originally from Singapore, Marion has lived in Denmark for over 30 years.  She has been involved in printmaking and painting since she graduated with an Advanced Certificate in Art and Design from Fremantle TAFE many years ago. Marion works across various media, preferring linocut printmaking, painting, and origami art. These techniques complement and inform one another in her work.

Marion’s goal is to bring others visual enjoyment and beauty.  Her original and unique art evokes a sense of serenity.

Marion’s artworks have won awards and are held in public and private collections.
